2020 Domaine de Reuilly Pinot Gris Rose - Loire, France - Normally $24.49 - Best known for its flinty whites made from Sauvignon Blanc, the small Reuilly appellation is also home to another specialty. About one in every five bottles of Reuilly is pink: a pale, delicately colored dry rosé of Pinot Gris. These vins gris are created by directly pressing the berries after harvest, resulting in a short period of skin contact that imbues the slightest salmon hue to these delightfully light, crisp wines. Denis Jamain is a proud ambassador of the appellation whose Domaine de Reuilly is certified both organic and biodynamic—for Denis, essential philosophies to sustainably crafting clean, fresh, terroir-driven wines. His Pinot Gris grows on light soils of sand and gravel, ideal for putting forth the grape’s subtle aromas of fresh fruit. With suggestions of white peach, grapefruit, and flowers, low alcohol, and palate-cleansing acidity, it is perfect for an apéritif at sunset, but it also pairs brilliantly with ceviche, goat cheese, and many Vietnamese dishes.

2018 Domaine Bousquet Gaia Red Blend - Mendoza, Argentina - Normally $19.49 - 50% Malbec 45% Syrah 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, aged for 10 months in French oak. Named for the Earth Mother goddess in Greek mythology, Gaia Red and White Blends are a multi-varietal cornucopia of estate-grown grapes. This Old World tradition of blending varieties is updated to highlight modern, non-classic New World pairings. The primary grape comprises around 50% of the mix. Each vintage, the bounty from the estate is blended a bit differently to reflect what Mother Nature has offered. A new taste adventure every year. Dark violet color. Blackcurrants and dark plums on the nose with spicy and dried herbs notes Medium to full body with bright acidity, juicy body, and a tannin backbone.

2018 Rubus Proprietary Red Blend - Spain - Normally $12.99 – Master of Wine, Fran Kysela, created the Rubus Project in 1997 as a way to source & sell incredible wines at value prices. This global project encompasses wines from around the world, all of which are hand-selected by Fran himself. Rubus wines must be from estate-grown fruit, and they must over deliver. The grapes for Rubus Proprietary Reserve Red are sourced from a mountainous area called SistemaI Ibérico, characterized by its high altitude and loose, stony, nutrient-poor soil. 80% of the vineyards are located at an altitude higher than 800 meters above sea level, planted in goblet (bush vine), with 60% of vines over 50 years old. In this blend of 90% Garnacha and 10% Syrah, 70% of the Grenache used is Garnacha Tinta from 35-year-old vines. The remaining Grenache is a mix of Garnacha Peluda (Lledoner Pelut), Garnacha Tintorera and some loose Garnacha Blanca vines. The Syrah, which is mostly planted in trellis with irrigation, contributes color and aromas to the blend. The resulting blend produces a flavorful wine, rich in blackberry and plum fruits, with aromas of subtle spices, berry and fruitcake.

2019 Carl Sittman Mosel Riesling - Mosel, Germany - Normally $12.99  - 100% Riesling grown along the steep banks of the Mosel River in southern Germany. Apple pie on the nose; grapefruit, apricot and mineral flavors in the mouth. Lightly sweet with a long finish. 2018 Henri Perrusset Macon-Farges - Burgundy, France - Normally $23.49 – 100% Chardonnay from 50-60 year old vines in the village of Farges.  Wines age on their lees for 8-10 months in stainless steel cuves, resulting in a rich yet refreshing Chardonnay. Moving south, we arrive in the sunnier Maconnais, a part of Burgundy blessed with just the slightest hint of the Mediterranean’s balmy influence. Riper fruit mingles with floral charm, backed by a lively acidity and the concentrated minerality of deeply rooted vines planted in the 1940s. Perrusset excels at crafting wines that are accessible, true to their origin, and reliably delicious at a great price—that’s satisfaction guaranteed.

2019 La Croisade Reserve Chardonnay - Languedoc, France - Normally $12.49 – 100% Chardonnay from selected vineyards along France’s Mediterranean coast in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Although the region has been known to produce cheap table wine in the past, many vineyards and cooperatives are replacing lesser quality vines with higher quality wine varieties and production methods. The quality has been steadily improving since the 1970s when the region was best known for churning out cheap jug wine.  Very aromatic nose with notes of quince, honey, spices combined with more fresh notes of citrus fruits. The mouth is fleshy and fresh with aromas of white pulp combine to give some notes of mango and ginger. Great on its own or to be served with salads and fish.
