Reds: 

2018 Siegel Cabernet Uber Cuvee Cabernet Sauvignon – Colchagua Valley, Chile - Regularly $14.99 – 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from the heart of the famed Colchagua Valley in Chile.  Siegel Family Wines has been operating for three generations and are particularly proud of their Cabernet Sauvignon.  The wine is medium-bodied, has good acid, and It shows flavors of concentrated red fruit, pepper, and a toasted oaky finish.  Enjoy this with grilled meats, or a hearty chili.   

 2019 Alain Jaume Côtes Du Rhône Haut de Brun – Côtes Du Rhône, France - Regularly - 20.49 – 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah, 10% Mouvédre from the motherland.  This GSM hails from soils of limestone and red clay and is made by combining a short maceration with a direct press.  Lighter and brighter than the average bear, this salmon- pink-colored showing flavors of wild strawberry, dried rose, and spicy Provençal garrigue.  Try this one with herbal Mediterranean dishes of chicken or lamb.

2016 Burgo Viejo Rioja Garnacha – Rioja, Spain – Regularly $16.99 – 100% Garnacha from the village of Alfaro in Rioja Baja where this grape has been grown for many centuries in perfect balance with the climate and soil of the Rioja DOC.  This wine is full-bodied with soft tannins and has flavors of ripe red berries, violet, and a tickle of oaky spice.  Pair this with red meat, red sauce pasta, or even chocolate mousse.

 2018 Girasole Cabernet Sauvignon – Mendocino County, California – Regularly $16.99 – 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot, 7 % Zinfandel from a certified organic family-owned farm originally planted in 1955.  This wine caught high praise from Wine Enthusiast scoring 91 points.  It’s a classical California Cab with flavors of ripe red cherry, pepper, and black olive with a smooth finish and grippy tannins.  Drink this alongside grilled or braised red meat… this one would be ideal for wild game.

 

Mixed:

2018 90+ Cótes de Provence Rosé – Provence, France - Regularly $14.49 – 60% Cinsault, 40% Grenache grown in Le Haut Var of Provence.  The forest and the mountains of the region cool the vineyards in this otherwise warm Mediterranean climate allowing the wine to retain freshness yet also allowing it to show the grape's full character.  This wine has aromatics of fresh red berries and shows flavors of wildflower and stone fruit, it’s got loads of freshness and minerality.  Try this one with prawns or an inventive salad, or both.

 2019 Lagar de Indra Albariño – Rias Baixas, Spain – Regularly $19.99 – 100% Albariño from arguably the best place in the world to grow the grape.  The grapes are destemmed and put through a cold maceration to increase the intensity of primary aromas typical of the variety.  The result is a wine that is clear and bright with an intense fruity and floral nose, and flavors of Granny Smith apple and Anjou pear, along with notes of grapefruit and wild herbs.  This wine screams out for seafood, all types, or perhaps something pesto-driven.

 2019 Girasole Vineyards Zinfandel – Mendocino County, California – Regularly $16.99 – 100% Zinfandel from a certified organic family-owned farm first planted in 1955.  The grapes were picked from three separate plots each with its own aspect and characteristics.  Blended together these grapes grown in slightly different soils and angles add onto one another creating a unique blend of flavors.  This wine is full-bodied yet drinks lean, with smooth tannin and good acid, it shows flavors of ripe blackberry, boysenberry jam, dried plum, and a touch of spice.  Pair this one with real-deal BBQ, baby back ribs, brisket, tri-tip, or even smoked vegetables.

 

White:

2019 Larchago Rioja Blanco – Rioja, Spain – Regularly $15.49 – 100% Viura from the heart of Rioja where vines grow primarily from Limestone and clay.  These grapes are not harvested until October which ensures they hit peak ripeness and translates to a lush feeling wine.  The Larchago Blanco is a powerful white that shows flavors of orchard fruit, white flowers, and finishes with tropical notes.  Taste this one alongside ceviche, a seafood-based risotto, or fish tacos.

2019 Ant Moore Signature Series Sauvignon Blanc – Marlborough, New Zealand – Regularly $19.99 – 100% sustainably grown Sauvignon Blanc from three separate plots in the Waihopai Valley.  2019 was a very dry year and it resulted in low berry numbers and small crop yields, however, the vintage delivered clean fruit with concentrated flavors. This is a full-bodied white with richness as well as balanced acidity, it has flavors of tropical fruit, citrus, and dried herbs.  Crack this bottle with your favorite Thai food dish, or perhaps some citrus-marinated grilled fish.
